Biotech and pharma-focused IP boutique is looking for an associate or counsel with at least 5 years of experience in patent prosecution and counseling, including management of worldwide patent portfolios. Successful candidates must be admitted to practice before the USPTO.  An advanced degree in a life science discipline is strongly preferred.  We will consider candidates for both part-time and full-time positions, as well as candidates with significantly more experience.  This attorney will support partners in multiple locations and must be comfortable working independently.

Biotech and pharma-focused IP boutique is looking for a marketing/recruiting specialist with at least 2 years of experience with a marketing/business development team. Successful candidates will have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 

Responsibilities:

  • - Assists with website content, direct website editing using Surreal CMS, and coordinating with outside vendor when appropriate.
  • - Assists with new client proposals including RFPs and outside counsel agreements, including coordinating with internal and external vendors as appropriate.
  • - Assists in the development and coordination of external marketing materials, including marketing PDF packets, announcements, advertisements, newsletters, and promotional items. Work with outside venders as needed.
  • - Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the firm’s ranking materials to include preparing and submitting marketing surveys (i.e., MIP IP Stars; IAM); researching and identifying new opportunities for firm rankings and branding.
  • - Assists with scheduling and recording partner marketing meetings and discussions.
  • - Managing the firm’s contact database of address lists for newsletters and other promotional materials.
  • - Provides support to attorneys related to document formatting and preparation of marketing materials.
  • - Provides support and coordinates with attorneys for all speaking and outside marketing events.
  • - Works with new hires on development and creation of biographies, as well as coordination of photography and business card ordering as required.
  • - Coordinating recruiting activities including placing ads, organizing resumes, and creating spreadsheets to assist partners with reviewing candidates.
  • - Communicate with candidates regarding status of candidacy decisions.
  • - Coordinate new employee and departing employee resources (office supplies, setting up or discontinuing various programs/vendors, etc.), coordinating with the appropriate internal and external contacts, and updating the checklists accordingly.
  • - Provides occasional administrative support.

Qualities and Skills Required:

  • - High level of proficiency with Adobe Acrobat
  • - Excellent Microsoft Office skills a prerequisite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • - Excellent writing, editorial and proofreading skills
  • - Previous law firm or other professional services firm experience preferred
  • - Familiarity with Surreal website editing tool (or equivalent experience)
  • - Strong attention to detail
  • - Confident, energetic and self-motivating
  • - Collaborative team player
  • - Able to work in independent environment and communicate effectively with operations manager and partners in different offices

Part time position (25 hours a week; preferably shorter hours 5 days a week). Woman-owned firm. 401K plan with generous matching component.
